Before the presentation, while i was preparing for the case, i recommended that the company should adopt the EDC technology. However after the presentation, I had a different perspective on what the company should do considering that it is not an easy decision to make and all the other factors that would affect them if the new technology is abducted.
I would finally recommend that they should keep operating with an improved paper-based system because i am one who is very skeptical of risk, and switching to EDC seems like a huge risk to take considering that it might fail and also that majority of the people are not very familier with technology yet. If it does, the company will loose tremendous amount of money and time which is what they are very sensitive to. Time taken to set up, install and try out the whole system. Im assuming that we aren't talking about weeks, or months. This is a change that should require a company to form a change management team that would help them walk through the process
The improved paper-based system doesn't also seem like its the perfect option due to its downside, but we have to make sure we have all our information and facts on the table before we make a big decision like switching to EDC. I don't see that the time to do that is now
